Five nursing home employees were sentenced for their involvement in the death of a patient. A respiratory therapist failed to attach a patient’s ventilator when she went to sleep. Charges were filed against a collective group of five staff working at the nursing home. Sentencing for one staff was nine months in jail with three years probation.

Nursing Home Employee Charged With Sexual Battery
A nursing home employee faces six counts of felony charges after fondling patients and exposing himself. The charges include sexual battery and attempted sexual battery. One of the patients involved had dementia. The employee was suspended after being reported and an investigation ensued.
Nursing Home Staff Sentenced For Not Attending Patient In Distress
Three nurses have been sentenced to three years probation after allowing an alarm to sound for more than an hour without responding. One nurse will also serve 840 hours of probation as part of her sentence. A patient had serious medical needs and was in distress. The nurses did not respond to those needs. The patient died and the nursing staff did not offer any apologies to the family.
