A nursing home patient’s daughter is now caring for her mother after losing trust in the facility where she resided. Her mother was sent to the hospital 37 times while a resident at the nursing home. The main issue that her daughter mentioned was medication errors.

Nursing home residents in one facility are considered to be in immediate jeopardy due to the low standard of care being applied to their well being. Neglect involving issues such as medication errors is a major concern for those residing at the home. One patient had 25 doses of a blood thinner withheld causing immediate jeopardy for that patient.

A nursing home owner faces an upcoming trial for allegations made regarding the neglect and abuse of patients staying at his nursing home. One nursing home patients experienced a sexual assault, while another experienced a serious medication error. A deceased patient’s husband has filed a wrongful death lawsuit citing neglect of his wife while she was a patient at the defendant’s nursing home facilities. He claims that she was allowed to suffer pressure sores and wounds on her body. Sepsis was contracted through the sores and she ultimately died of a heart attack.  The husband is claiming that his wife’s death was avoidable if she had received better care.

A former nursing home administrator was sentenced to jail for theft of a patient who was a veteran at the nursing home facility he oversaw. The veteran was awarded financial aid to help with medical expenses in the amount of $313,452.37.
