Caregiver Arrested on Suspicion of Elder Abuse After Injuring 95-Year-Old Man
The arrest has been made of a caregiver of an elderly man. According to police, the female caregiver became angry and threw a glass table top on the floor, injuring her 95-year-old client. The caregiver, 35-years-old, was arrested after the victim called his family to tell them that his arm had been cut by the broken glass.
Man Kills Elderly Mother and Himslef at Nursing Home
According to police, on Monday afternoon a man visiting his mother in a nursing home shot his mother and then himself. The man was 60-years-old when he shot his 86-year-old mother at the facility. Health department officials in one state substantiated complaints last week against multiple health care facilities in the state. In the report released last Tuesday, the state substantiated an allegation of neglect in a case in which a resident suffered a second-degree burn from a hot pack. The incident occurred in March, and it was one of three hot-pack injuries at the facility this year.

One nursing home facility is taking the proper steps to eliminate a bedbug problem, according to the health department. The facility immediately reported a bedbug infestation to the Health Department when it was discovered last week.
