One State's Governor Postpones Nursing Home Funding, Creates Backlash Among Politicians

One governor is receiving both support and backlash after she refused to sign a law which would affect nursing home funding in her state.  According to a report, the governor has decided to wait a year before making a decision whether to sign or veto the bill.  The bi-partisan bill was proposed after concerns following several nursing home closures in this state.Some politicians claim her refusal to immediately sign this bill is “detrimental” for senior care.

Nursing Homes' Owner Accused of Wage Theft Following Homes' Closures

A group of nursing homes in one state were forced to close several months ago, and the owner is now accused of employee wage theft. According to the state’s attorney general, the facilities were constantly violating health standards and were preparing to voluntarily surrender the licenses.
